First Vice President

VASILIY VASILYEVICH STUPIN — First Vice President of the Association, Executive Director of Pacific Thrift Store, and Lead Pastor of Good News Church in Tacoma, Washington.

Vasiliy was born in Moscow in 1978 to a non-Christian family. In 1992, at the age of thirteen, he immigrated with his parents to Los Angeles, where he later repented and was baptized.

From 1998 to 2002, he served in the United States Army and continued serving in the Army Reserve until 2006. He has lived in Washington State since 1999. From 2001 to 2006, he served in various ministries at Temple Baptist Church, an American church in University Place, Washington.

Vasiliy has served at Good News Church in Tacoma since 2006—first as church administrator and deacon, then as pastor of the English-language ministry beginning in 2012, and as lead pastor since 2014. Over the years, the church has grown into a thriving multicultural congregation of approximately 520 members. Four worship services are held every Sunday—two in English, one in Russian, and one in Ukrainian. More than half of the congregation attends the English-language services. The church also operates Good Works Ministries, a charitable organization that includes a food bank and thrift store serving Tacoma residents in need.

Vasiliy dedicates the experience he has gained through years of entrepreneurship to ministry, teaching at Christian camps, conferences, and seminars. Developing the next generation of leaders and missionary ministry are especially close to his heart.

Vasiliy has served on the Association’s Executive Committee since 2016. He became Vice President in 2018 and currently serves as First Vice President of the Association. He is also the Executive Director of Pacific Thrift Store, a ministry of the Association whose proceeds support the Missionary Department and other ministries and needs of the Association.

Vasiliy is married to Irina. They have three daughters—Isabella, Karina, and Kristina. All three have been baptized, serve the Lord, and are actively involved in church ministry. Their eldest daughter, Isabella, is married.
