EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
Return to the education department pageM. A. of Church Ministry is a three year program taught in Russian.
Blagovest Institute of Ministry in partnership with Theological Seminary in Moscow opened a learning program to train ministers in M.A. of Church Ministry. This program is designed for those who are already in specific church ministry but would like to grow more in theology and practical ministry. Currently there are 25 students who completed the B. A. of Church Ministry or are currently either pastors or deacons in the church.
Currently there is a consideration of the involvement of the instructors of the Theological Seminary of Moscow, as well as those from other institutions. The instruction takes place at Russian Baptist Church of Bryteevery second Friday and Saturday of the month (Friday from 6.30 р.м., Saturday from 9.00 а.м.).
Beginning of the Program - January 2019.
Length of Study – 3.5 years.
Course Load:
- 21 subjects + Masters' dissertation + defense + practice
- Subjects: 5 subjects in Bible knowledge, 5 subjects in history and theology, 7 subjects in practical ministry, and 4 general subjects, experience, exam and dissertation.
- In Class: Maximum of 36 sessions at 12 credit hours each = 432 hours = 17-18 credits (realistically 33 sessions of 12 hours)
- Independent Study: Reading and writing of homework – 30-40 credit hours between sessions (2 hours per day, 7 – 10 hours per week) = 40-60 credits. During the last year, there was an addition of the dissertation project consisting of 50 weeks of 3-4 ours per week for a total of about 180 hours. (Academic reading pace is 5 minutes per page; 2.5 hours per one page of written work.)
- Practice: 80 hours = 3-4 credits
- Dissertation: (Project of 30-40 pages, or 60-80 page dissertation) – 180 hours, 7-8 credits
- Defense – 1 credit.
