On April 16-23, Christians in Sacramento collected donations of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The donations and packing of the container took place at the Second Slavic Baptist Church. Up to 20 active volunteers were involved in this project.
“This is now the 16th container that we are sending to Ukraine, to the regions that have been severely affected by the war. Our church began this ministry in 2014. With the support of Connect International mission, many businessmen, as well as regular citizens, who care about the fate of the Ukrainian people, we continue to do this until now”, said Oksana Kopchuk who is in charge of the relief aid to Ukraine at the Second Slavic Baptist Church.
Three containers were sent from Pennsylvania, and one from Sacramento. The cargo will be transported through Poland, and then through volunteer organizations in Lvov and Poltava regions, which are hot war zones in Ukraine. The transportation of the container typically takes one-and-a-half to two months.
What is typically included in such a relief effort donation? Clothing and shoes in good condition, personal hygiene items, medicine, diapers, flour, sugar, grains, pasta products, meat, and vegetable cans, nut butter, and other products with long shelf life.
