On December 15, Cornerstone Faith Church in Sacramento, organized a unique event for immigrants. This was a Christmas quest which was inspired by the mystery and adventures of a book by C.S. Lewis and is recognized around the world. The event included a Christmas lights limo tour as well. About 500 people were able to participate.
Professor Kirk greeted every family at the entrance and captivated both children and adults by his stories. He prepared them to an adventure into the magical realm. Then children and parents came into Narnia through the magical wardrobe where they had an important mission of returning the forgotten Christmas to the citizens of Narnia.
At every station of the quest, the children were greeted by familiar characters: wise lion Aslan, kind fawn, hardworking beaver, and even the cold Snow Queen. Every one of them presented interesting challenges to the children which helped them to feel the thrill of a real adventure. Children were able to vanquish the enemies, heal Aslan, and even find the long-lost fragments of the past.
The most captivating moment was the return of the memory crystal to the king and queen of Narnia which allowed the country to remember about Christmas, and to restore joy, warmth, and happiness of the coming Savior to its citizens. Children didn’t just hear about the true meaning of this holiday from the Bible, but also received a personal “fragment of memory” as a gift pendant so that they would always remember about the miracle of Christmas.
The event concluded with an exciting limo ride to the Christmas lights and became the icing on the cake for this wonderful evening. Children were full of excitement and promised to always remember about the miracle of Christmas.
This was a wonderful opportunity to share the story of Christmas through familiar and beloved characters of Narnia, as well as to build relationships. It became a perfect example of how the church can unite people, and create unforgettable memories for people who are so far from God.
