Viktor Kovba was born on February 3, 1973 in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. He came to the faith in 1995 and was baptized the same year. In 2000, he was ordained as a pastor. For the next eleven years he was a pastor of a Evangelical church in the Zhytomyr region, in the Gadzynka village, as well as a coordinator of church planting in that region. He graduated the ICP Institute in Minsk, and studied at the Kiev’s Theological Seminary. Together with his wife Tatyana they have five children and nine grandchildren.
Eleven years ago, he and his family moved from Ukraine to Poland where they became citizens. Because of the health condition of his wife, he and his family moved to Torrevieja (Alicante), and joined the church in Valencia. Prior to this, they lived and served in England and Germany. Many people couldn’t understand how they could quit good jobs and a comfortable life of England and Germany, and move to Spain. But the Lord had His own plan.
It is hard to find a job in this area of Spain, but this city is ready for receiving the preaching the Gospel and planting new churches.
The Lord abundantly blessed them and helped them to plant a new Baptist church in Torrevieja. The church has 35 members, and on an average Sunday, there are about 80-90 people who come. On holidays and evangelistic services, there are about 100-110 people in attendance.
